Construction of the current Stadium, Camp
Nou, was begun in 1954 and had an original seating capacity
of 98,000. Three years later on September 24th 1957 the new stadium
was officially inaugurated. The first game at Camp Nou was
played against Warsaw selection with Barça winning with a final
score of 4 to 2. With the regularly scheduled games playing
to sell out crowds, Camp Nou under went an expansion in 1980. After
construction was finished the enlarged Camp Nou had an official
seating capacity of 120,000 spectators.
